Go Tankless or Go Home

Say goodbye to quick, military-style showers, refilling your tank, and waiting for the hot water to recover. This revolutionary design replaces your outdated tank heater and gives you the luxury of taking back-to-back showers, washing dishes, and running a load of laundry all at once. Unlike traditional tank heaters that require constant energy to keep your water hot, this tankless, propane-fueled water heater only uses energy when you turn on your faucet or shower, providing the ultimate efficiency at a campground or off-the-grid. The endless, on-demand hot water has no recovery time and is perfect if you're on the road full-time or traveling with a large group.

Relaxing Showers without Scalding or Freezing

Has your warm and relaxing shower ever been interrupted by a cruel burst of ice-cold water? Perhaps you've been the victim of a scorching surge of hot water that scalds you and sends you dancing out of harm's way. Either way, it's the worst, but those days are over. Furrion's vortex technology is designed to eliminate those dreaded hot and cold water fluctuations by consistently mixing hot and cold water together to reach your desired temperature, ensuring those warm, comfortable showers.

Safety First

This state-of-the-art technology is equipped with built-in safety measures to ensure you, your family, and your RV stay out of harm's way.

Its dual temperature sensors automatically shut off power if the water temperature exceeds 149 F, preventing the unit from overheating while also reducing the risk of hot water scalding. The unit also has a flame monitoring feature that cuts off the gas supply if the flame goes out to prevent gas from leaking inside your RV and a built-in safety valve that allows pressure to vent at 87 psi to prevent excess pressure and heat build-up.

Anti-Freeze Control Board

This tankless water heater features a control board to keep itself warm when temperatures drop. Freezing water can damage the unit, so an internal thermostat monitors water temperature and will turn the heat on automatically when it gets too cold. This feature will only work if the water heater is receiving power and gas. You will need to remember to winterize the water heater before storage over the winter.

Tammy P. saved the day for us.

Original
order with free delivery was going to ship too late to make it in time to install before our trip. Tammy canceled the first order, reordered and walked the new order with 3 day shipping to make sure it went out. Got our water heater in time to install before the trip. The packaging of the water heater is the best I’ve seen for online purchases.
Fit in original space with room to spare. Only modification was shortening the exterior trim which I anticipated. Installed easily and worked on the first try.
I had room, so I used flexible gas and water hoses to help with getting connections tight and leak tested (specially the gas) prior to sliding unit into place.

Thanks again Tammy!

I've only had this installed a few hours and all I can say is wow. Took a full 25 minute shower and it was fantastic. The folks from etrailer were great. I called with some questions and Will was great, he answered all my questions accurately and friendly. The free 2 day shipping was also great since my 2 year old Suburban water heater has started leaking. Everything about this transaction was awesome. I did have to frame in the opening to fit the tankless since it's a bit smaller without a tank. Some of the reviews say the water doesn't get hot enough, if your flow is to much then it will take a bit to get to temp. I have an adjustable pressure regulator and had to back it off to 50 psi. Plus, you don't need to crank your hot water all the way up, with these water heaters less is more. Turn your hot up enough to stream then regulate your pressure with the cold side. It's just a little different than a conventional water heater. Best money I've spent on my 5th wheel. Thank you etrailer.

Great service

by:

It performs absolutely wonderful, the only glitch was the frame had to be fabricated to fit the rv frame

by:

Perfect and easy out with the old and in with the new replacement.

by:

Got this one too replace one with a cracked heat exchanger, it was the exact same!

by:

Customer was happy to have hot water again. Unit is working perfectly

by:

Absolutely wonderful. Using this on a tiny home. Works amazing. Incredibly quiet. Using with a solar system as well. Customer service is amazing! Its nice and compact. The water heater starts making hot water at a low flow rate as well. Its everything I was looking for! Installation was very easy and everything worked just as it should.

by:

Install was easy enough, didn’t work at first so etrailer sent a new thermostat unit still didn’t work so they sent a whole new unit and it’s been great ever since.
I can take 60-70 degree water to n the fresh tank and in about 30-40 seconds of running water it’ll reach temps around 110- 115. It’s a short run maybe 5 feet to the shower from the heater.
It uses very little propane, propane weight before and after a shower shows a 2-4 oz weight reduction.

Winterizing is real easy also.
For the price, ease of use, propane and electric savings I believe this is a great choice especially for those whose do longer trips in their rig.

Works great so far. Etrailer YouTube video on how to install it was super helpful.

This water heater was a great choice. It provides all the hot water a person wants while taking a shower or whatever you want. I removed my old 6-gallon water heater and installed this water heater myself. It only took a couple of hours to install. I purchased two flex water lines from Home Depot to hook up the water lines. I did this so I would not have to cut and reroute the existing water lines. The gas line was long enough to where I could screw it onto the water heater. I installed the thermostat on the bathroom wall. It took me about an hour to install. I placed it near the shower so it would be easy to control.
We were constantly running out of hot water with the 6-gallon tank. With this tankless heater my wife can take a "wonderful" shower and I don't get yelled at because she ran out of hot water. We used it all s
last summer almost every weekend and a several weeks.
The only problem I have had is that when we use the shower handheld shower head when taking a shower and reduce the water flow, the water heater shuts off. Then when the hot water flow is restarted, there will be a rush of cooler water. That causes a little problem. When this happens it's nice that the hot water returns within seconds.
Overall, we have had no major problems using the water heater. It works very well. I have had people tell me that this tankless water heater uses more gas than the 6-gallon water heater, but I have not seen that.
Over all it's a great product.

Simply stated, the unit has been functioning dependably since it was installed a year ago. I live in my 5th wheel and will have doing so for 3 years now. It's a Fleetwood Terry.

I absolutely have had no issues at all and I use it every day. When I first installed it, I couldn't get it to fire but the issue was low water pressure caused by the winter drain being just ever so slightly cracked open. Of course it was factory located in the most remote inconvenient spot. After that, it fired right up and has run daily ever since. Also note that I've been off the grid for the 3 years doing this so the water heater has run totally off of solar power from four 200watt panels and a Bluetti converter. Again, never an issue.

I don't run heat nor air conditioning. The Furrion is one of very few luxuries. Good appliance and very appreciative of it's performance!

Thanks for inquiring. I highly recommend the Furrion.

Outstanding hot water. Endless!

by:

I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I fill up my sink for washing dishes and then the shower is nice and hot. Once you use this you’ll have one in everything you own.

by:

Excellent product, very easy to install and delivery was very fast! Their customer service is excellent!

by:

This was a good replacement for my Atwood on demand water heater. I used aluminum angle stock to fill in on both sides of the opening Painted the 16 x 18 inch door black to match the other appliance covers on the camper. Was also able to us a gas line that went from the inside to the outside of the old water heater to extend the camper gas line about 6 inches.

5 stars for etrailer and Will specifically. The first unit we got was a lemon. After replacing the motherboard that furrion sent us under warranty it still wasn’t working properly. Contacting furrion was pointless. They didn’t have any replacements in stock so with them we were out of luck. Thank God we purchased from etrailer! Will (who is literally the best customer service rep I’ve ever dealt with from any company) helped us out immediately. He sent us a replacement almost overnight along with a prepaid shipping return label for the lemon. This new one worked like a champ.

The few cons I will say I’ve encountered with this water heater... sometimes it has a mind of its own and the temperature will just climb all the way up to 124 and then come back down even though it’s set at 95. I have no idea why it does this, fortunately it doesn’t happen very often. I cannot get a lukewarm shower very easily, if I turn on the cold water to cool it off it either makes the hot water heat up more to compensate or completely turns off the hot water. That’s kinda annoying. Sometimes it won’t even do 95, it starts at like 102 or higher, I’m thinking it’s bc it’s summer and the ground water is just too warm? Idk but that’s kinda frustrating too. Sometimes it’s hot out and you don’t want a hot shower but not a freezing one either, somewhere in the middle is ideal and on those days it’s hard to get the right temperature. Another issue is a design flaw so that when It rains, water gets in the exhaust hole and it will prevent the water heater from turning on. My husband put duct tape over it to create a flap which looks [bad] but works well. Haven’t had a problem since. Furrion would do well to create a flap for the exhaust hole to prevent this issue. Other than that, it does heat on demand as it should and keeps the temperature well. I love having endless hot water in the shower, especially since we have multiple people showering daily. Because it works on low pressure we have no need to install a separate pressure regulator as many have to do with the other brands available. We’ve never had an issue with it working no matter what water pressure we have.

Overall I would definitely recommend this one. It can operate on lower pressure than the other ones out there and is more powerful. The control monitor is perfect too. We placed ours in the bathroom by the shower since we knew that would be the only time We’d want to adjust the water temp. It works well, has advantages over the others on the market and is a little cheaper to boot.

This unit is amazing, the water become hot in few second. really quiet and easy to install. Be carefull that you have enough water pressure and flow when using with water pump. Open the hot water side and add cold water without reducing the hot side otherwize the unit may shutdown. Instead, lower the unit target temperature and add less cold water. I'm really happy with this unit. Compared to the smaller unit like the Fogatti, this one suit well for cold input water. Fogatti sell their unit showing 2.2 GPM however this is true for input water temperature around 70 deg F, here in Canada our water temperature is more around 30 deg F. I have tested this Furrion unit with a shower and two faucet and I never lack hot water. I really appreciated the fact that three door size is available. I retrofited my Atwood 6gal with this unit using the 16x18 door. Everything worked well. I painted the door and door frame to match as close as possible my RV color.

I'm in a lot of hot water because of this water heater:)

by:

First trip after installing this water heater. What a difference having unlimited hot water! Installation was fairly straightforward but did require some fabrication- using some 2” aluminum L stock to reduce size of hole in sidewall and making a support for the water heater in the cabinet. Very happy with this water heater

by:

Easy to install and we use less propane. I wish I knew about tankless in trailers before.

by:

by:

Easy to install. Minor blocking was needed to ensure mounting points were available to install the new door but that was expected. We also had to make a few plumbing changes to ensure connections worked. Then only 4 electrical connections and it worked immediately. Great product.

by:

Replaced a previous water heater that was the Girard. The additional BTUs available in this Furrion means it is fast producing at initial start up and it can produce at a much higher overall flow rate.

by:

As usual staff at etrailer very helpful. They recommended the Furrion tankless water heater. Unit arrived quickly and was well packaged. Installation instructions were straightforward and easy to understand.A little reconfiguration of the opening on my unit were old water heater and new heater went in with no problems. Hooked up water and gas and tested unit and putting out gallon after gallon of hot water. Does take time maybe less than a minute for hot water to arrive at faucet. Just installed but so far so good and well pleased with everything.

  • Best Replacement Water Heater for a Atwood GC6AA-10E
Hey Gary. Atwood was bought out around 10 years ago by Dometic and then discontinued. While there's not an identical replacement for your Atwood GC6AA-10E water heater we do have a comparable option size wise. It is the Dometic RV Water Heater item # DMC74FR. The Dometic item # DMC74FR has a 6 gallon tank, produces up to 12 gallons per hour, and fits cutouts measuring 12-3/4" tall x 12-3/4" wide x 19-7/8" deep. The 15" x 15". • Does etrailer Carry Dometic WH-10GEA Water Heater to Replace Atwood GCH10A-3E
Hi Fred; we carry the Dometic # DMC74FR which is the 6 gallon version but for whatever reason we have never had their 10 gallon water heater WH-10GE. You can stick with the Dometic if you want but I'm sorry to say you will have to pick it up elsewhere. Alternatively, you can replace your Atwood with a different 10 gallon water heater like the GE Profile RV Water Heater - Gas/Electric # GE97RR (white) or # GE24RR (black). This fits cutouts measuring 12-3/4" tall x 12-3/4" wide x 26-1/4"...

Hey Tom, that does sound like you have a bad board on your GC10A-4E. Atwood is no longer around so unless you can find replacement parts somewhere the only option would be to completely replace the water heater. You can swap it out for a similar 10 gallon water heater like the GE Profile RV Water Heater - Gas/Electric # GE97RR (white) or # GE24RR (black). This fits cutouts measuring 12-3/4" tall x 12-3/4" wide x 26-1/4" deep. You can also switch to a tankless water heater like the Furrion...
